About me

Welcome! I’m currently a first year PhD student at UC Berkeley@IEOR. I did my undergraduate at School of the Gifted Young, University of Science and Technology of China, majoring in Statistics. My first name can be pronounced as “jiː-nɑn”, and my name in Chinese is 卜一楠.

My research interests span broadly in statistics, optimization and machine learning, including reinforcement learning, diffusion models, distributed optimization, and statistical machine learning.

During my undergraduate study at USTC, I had the honor to work with Prof. Xueqin Wang on projects in Hyperdimensional Computing and Large-Scale Optimization. These experiences not only deepened my understanding of statistical methodology and computation, but also greatly enriched my academic journey.

In the summer of 2025, I spent a wonderful time at the University of Michigan, working with Prof. Ji Zhu and Prof. Gongjun Xu on synthetic network generation and latent space models. Collaborating with them has been an inspiring and rewarding experience, which broadened my vision and strengthened my passion for research.
